About the Role

FOUNDING AE needed at an early stage Cyber Risk STARTUP! Ideally in the NYC area but open to remote for the right candidate. Base $125k - $150k and up to $250k OTE+. Equity for true A+ players only. Chance to be first sales hire and play an instrumental role in scaling the business. Must have experience selling into mid market firms in retail, healthcare, legal, accounting, financial, etc., ideally with some experience at a startup and/or selling a new product into CSOs and compliance teams.

The Role
They're looking for a Founding Account Executive to own the entire sales cycle—from prospecting and outreach to closing deals with midmarket companies. You’ll work directly with the founding team to refine their sales motion, land high-value clients, and help scale a category-defining company.

What You’ll Do:

- Full-Cycle Sales: Drive new business by identifying, engaging, and closing midmarket customers across retail, healthcare, financial services, legal, accounting, and other key sectors.
- Consultative Selling: Become an expert in risk management and compliance challenges, tailoring solutions to each customer’s needs.
- Pipeline Management: Build and manage a strong pipeline of leads, leveraging outbound strategies, inbound interest, and referrals.
- Product Feedback: Work closely with product and marketing teams to refine messaging, sales materials, and positioning based on real-world customer insights.
- Market Expansion: Help develop sales playbooks, pricing models, and go-to-market strategies as they scale.
- Customer Relationships: Foster long-term relationships that drive retention and expansion opportunities.

Requirements:

- 3-7 years of B2B sales experience, preferably selling SaaS or risk/compliance solutions to midmarket firms.
- Proven track record of hitting or exceeding quota in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Experience selling to C-suite, legal, compliance, finance, and operations leaders.
- Strong hunter mentality with experience in outbound prospecting but experience in customer success and relationship/account management also a bonus
- Ability to thrive in an early-stage startup—scrappy, adaptable, and eager to iterate.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and storytelling skills.
- Bonus: Experience in risk, compliance, security, or regulatory technology.
