About the Role

CONTROLLER needed at a $7B structured credit Hedge Fund in NYC! Hybrid 4 days a week in office. Base $200k - $250k plus target $100k discretionary bonus. Looking for 6 - 10 years max of relevant work experience, with at least 2 at another alternative investment fund. Ideally experience with Geneva but open to experience with other fund accounting platforms as well. Must have experience with shadow NAV and ideally with structured credit.

Our client's primary business is to manage client capital through expertise in commercial and residential real estate debt and equity, structured credit, and systematic fixed income. They manage over $7 billion in assets across a range of investment products, including private limited partnerships, separate accounts, and publicly listed mutual and interval fund structures.

This role will oversee fund accounting, financial reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance while collaborating with various teams to support business operations.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Operations team to ensure accurate and timely issuance of daily PnL.
• Produce weekly and monthly estimates to internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead the preparation of the month-end NAVs for several funds.
• Coordinate with fund admins to reconcile NAVs on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Assist with tracking fund capital activity (subscriptions/redemptions).
• Assist in tracking/booking fund expenses and paying invoices.
• Prepare and review quarterly regulatory filings including AIFMD, PQR, Form PF.
• Review month-end investor statements.
• Participate in internal valuation meetings.
• Respond to ad-hoc investor requests.
• Work closely with auditors and the financial statement preparation team to finalize and issue clean annual financial statements

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 6-10 years of relevant work experience (public accounting and fund side experience with exposure to hedge, private equity fund, or other alternative investment clients preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Strong skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint (MUST be highly proficient in Excel).
• Aptitude for complex investment concepts.
• High level of precision in a fast paced; deadline driven environment.
• Strong ability to multi-task.
• Strong experience in full shadow books and records.
• Experience with Geneva is highly preferred.
• CPA candidate preferred but not required.
