Lead QA Engineer - AI Startup

About the Role

LEAD QA ENGINEER needed at my Fintech AI STARTUP! 3 - 4 days a week in office in NYC only. $160k - $180k base plus 10% target bonus and possibly equity. Looking for someone who can come in and build out the QA process and run with it. Potential to turn into a leadership role down the road if successful. Must have experience with SaaS, ideally within AI or data driven platforms.

What You’ll Do:

- Define QA Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy and roadmap to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
- Test Planning: Create and manage detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for manual and automated testing.
- Automation Leadership: Lead the development and maintenance of automated testing frameworks to increase testing efficiency and coverage.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product managers, developers, and UX designers to understand requirements and identify potential issues early in the development lifecycle.
- Work with Dev and Product Teams: Partner with development and product teams to prioritize testing efforts, streamline processes, and ensure timely delivery of features.
- Bug Tracking and Reporting: Identify, document, and track defects to resolution, ensuring transparency and timely communication with stakeholders.
- Performance and Scalability Testing: Ensure the platform performs optimally under high-load conditions and scales seamlessly as we grow.
- Quality Metrics: Define and track QA metrics to monitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and communicate results to leadership.
- Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with emerging trends, tools, and best practices in QA and testing to continually enhance our processes.

Qualifications:

- QA Expertise: 5+ years of experience in software testing, including manual and automated testing of SaaS platforms.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in test automation tools and scripting languages.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills with a strong ability to identify edge cases and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Collaborative: Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Problem-Solver: Proactive and resourceful in identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
- Self-Starter: Flexible, resilient, and able to thrive in a dynamic start-up environment while taking initiative to solve challenges independently.
- Familiarity with Agile: Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Bonus: Experience in testing AI-driven or data-intensive platforms.
