About the Role

SENIOR PRE SALES NEEDED! Hybrid NYC only. Base $150k - $175k plus around $50k target commission. Must have experience in pre sales or implementation at a financial markets technology firm like OMS/PMS, risk, data management or other front/middle/back office platforms.

Our client's software is a modern, performant, and interoperable platform used by some of the world’s top banks, hedge funds, energy, and commodity traders to run their trading and investing businesses. They have top-tier capital markets and energy clients globally and their pre-sales team play a key role in ensuring prospects understand the capabilities of their software and how it can be configured and deployed to address complex business challenges.

About The Role

The global pre-sales team works with various functions across the business to ensure that all proposals provide a compelling value proposition to truly meet the customer’s needs. The members of the group have a wide range of business and technical skills, are highly motivated and execute pre-sales activities to the highest possible standards, including customer facing demos, customer workshops and RFI and RFP management.

Together with the sales, the role involves engaging with prospect and client in requirements solicitation and solutions presentation. The ability to demo the software, across front, middle and back-office operations for a variety of customer profiles executing complex cross-asset trading strategies is critical. In addition to direct sales related activities, the role will involve gap analysis of the target market, routine analysis of the competitor landscape and market segmentation, also contributing to the commercial case and justification for strategic product developments. 

Responsibilities:
- Quickly become an SME in the software platform
- Engage with prospects and customers throughout the sales process to understand the business model, challenges and objectives
- Support the sales team qualification of opportunities and correct positioning of the firm in the sales process
- Ensure that needs of prospects are correctly understood and propose appropriate product and technical integration solutions aligned with business goals and/or constraints
- Understand specific requirements in detail and work with product and engineering teams to evaluate strategic fit and feasibility to meet these requirements within the solution
- Ensure that pre-sales propositions and demos are accurately targeted and diligently prepared
- Capture detailed information for future reference during implementation planning, contracting and delivery phases
- Independently manage concurrent and time-sensitive pre-sales engagements from discovery through to closure
- Drive consistency and coherency in the presentation of solutions, architecture and associated benefits to prospects and customers
- Contribute to product roadmap development with input from the market

Qualifications:
- Passionate about fintech, capital markets and working with world-class technology
- 8+ years’ experience in Capital Markets with 3+ years working with technology within the US.
- Pro-active approach and ability to work alone or in teams with minimal supervision
- Engaging presentational skills in-person and over video conference
- Experience facing senior business and technology stakeholders
- Expert knowledge of trading, hedging and lifecycle management across cash, listed and OTC derivatives: FX, MM, equities, fixed income, rates, credit, energy or commodities
- Expert knowledge of buy-side or sell-side business activities, with a focus on front office, middle office and market risk
- Familiarity with treasury, collateral management, credit risk and compliance functions would be a plus
- Familiarity with standard market infrastructure e.g. execution, market data, clearing
- Familiarity with solutions such as Adaptiv, Allegro, Calypso, Eze, CRD, Enfusion, Finastra, FrontArena, Openlink, Murex, Summit, etc.
